Leah Conroy was born as Leah Lorrayne Brindley in Morrisville, PA in 1958. She developed a love for the ocean early in life when her family visited Ocean City, NJ every summer for vacations. As a youngster, she became an accomplished equestrian and horse trainer. She continued her horse riding hobby as an adult living in San Francisco, CA. Her love for science and medicine provided the kind of enthusiasm necessary for a 25 career in biotechnology research (Harvard, USCF, Novartis) until finally retiring in 2007. She felt she still had a lot to offer in medicine in a more hands-on position and returned to school to become a surgical assistant (CST) where she worked for 5 years at Stanford Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. She became the lead ENT and Neurotology surgical technologist before moving to southern CA. Now, she craves involvement with institutions that could exploit her background, experiences and love for the ocean.
