Hi! My name is Holly Petersen and I have a passion for teaching others on how to surf. The best part is seeing someone's smile when they stand up on their first wave. I also have a niece who has Cystic Fibrosis and so I am very well educated about the genetic disease. She is talented, beautiful and smart! I am so proud of her for being so strong and resilient through out all of her treatments and hospital visits.
I grew up near the ocean so my Dad taught me how to surf when I was around eleven years old. I love and respect the ocean so much that I decided to become a surf instructor as well as a lifeguard once I turned eighteen. I also became a snowboard instructor during the winter months because I love nature and sharing my talents with others. I also love to golf! I played one year at Saddleback College before I earned my degree in Psychology at Cal State Fullerton. I still surf, snowboard and golf as much as possible. I also enjoy backpacking the High Sierra mountains during the summer time.
I feel that the Mauli Ola Foundation is an excellent way to be apart of those who have Cystic Fibrosis and to have a program that not only helps their lungs by breathing in the salt water but helps their well-being also! So I would love to be apart of this wonderful foundation!
