My daughter was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 2013. As I sat in CF clinic the month after the diagnosis, I saw a poster about "surf experience day." We signed up and drove out to California and at four years old, Addy rode a surfboard for the first time. She was so very happy and to this day she swears surfing is the one time she can escape the disease and the way it makes her feel. Three years later my other daughter was also diagnosed. This will be my second daughter's first surf day.
