My name is Matt, I'm 24 years old and I have Cystic Fibrosis. I love spending time with family and friends, playing music, and I greatly enjoy any time I can spend outdoors.
I first heard about the Mauli Ola Foundation back in 2010 and ever since I dreamed of learning to surf at one of the Surf Experience Days. I was able to cross that dream off of my bucket list in May of 2019, when some of my closest friends and I took a road trip from our hometown of Vancouver, WA to surf at the Santa Cruz surf day. It was an incredible experience, and it sparked a passion for surfing that will last me a lifetime.
Recently I have started a film project and YouTube channel called My Fearless Life. My mission is to show people that you can overcome any obstacle in life if you live in spite of fear; I want to inspire others and start a movement of "living fearlessly".
