I grew up in a challenging environment and found refuge in the ocean. Sitting on the beach and listening to the sounds of the waves gave me great comfort. Comfort to understand that there is something bigger than my issues. Now, as a teacher of students with special needs, I enjoy the concept of helping children who battle chronic illnesses to just be children for the day and let the powers of the ocean comfort them, the way it did for me.

Roller derby, kickboxing, rugby -
What is your favorite surf spot or beach?
I don't surf. Just moved here 3 weeks ago from Boston. However, I walk along the beach and watch the surfer every morning where I live (Hermosa Beach).
