Lisa Andersen, four-time world surfing champion, kicks off Mauli Ola’s eight month campaign for Breast Cancer!

On March 12th, Mauli Ola Ambassador, Lisa Andersen, joined the MOF team to kick off the 3rd Annual Battle for the Breasts (B4TB). This annual surf contest is a one-of-a-kind competition that is featured on Surfline.com, where the world’s top 16 women surfers compete to raise money for breast cancer. Each professional surfer is paired with a breast cancer clinic or foundation to compete on their behalf for $125,000 worth of genetic testing vouchers, presented by Ambry Genetics. The fan-based voting competition is presented in a bracket-style battle in the beginning of October 2016. Once a week, half the field will be eliminated and fans will be able to vote again, whittling down the field until a winner is crowned.

Last year’s champion, Coco Ho, represented MLC Cancer Foundation and presented a $50,000 donation in hereditary breast cancer testing vouchers!

"With these vouchers, we are able to provide vital genetic information to at-risk women who might otherwise not have access to testing.” says Pat Via, Founder of MLC Cancer Foundation. “We are grateful to Coco, the Mauli Ola Foundation, and Ambry Genetics in helping us with our mission to help our patients gain more knowledge and insights into their risk for cancer."

Andersen will take lead with this year’s new partner, World Surf League, by empowering the top women surfers throughout the 8month-long campaign. Each surfer’s invitation was personally handed out at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach world tour event in Torquay, Australia!
